Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) | Re: How it is better to understand the argument - need help!

I got a 6 and from my experience of the GMAT AWA, you need to apply a lot of common sense. Few tips from my end:
- Spend the first 3-4 mins finding 2/3 assumptions, a starting and concluding line, alternate explanations, extra information which could have helped to bolster the argument
- Present your critique like a third party. Do not use 'I think so', 'In my opinion'. Use statements like 'The arguments fails to address the issue of .... because ....'.
- Use keywords like 'First', 'Second', 'To
