GMAT Verbal Section | Consistency and Focus

I am having a real hard time staying consistent with my strategies in the verbal section. My main issue is the reading comp / critical reasoning setting me back on time so much that I start to panic a bit and I start to rush through the rest of the section (my final score is always all over the place never consistent like my quant). . I stop doing my splits on sentence correction and just start reading through answer choices instead and then that leads to rushing through CR prompts without writing
