i agree with B
I think the biggest problem with D is the "comma+-ing"
it distort the meaning
comma+-ing seems to refer back to the "such work" but not "logging"
I think if we want to use the "-ing" form we should omit the "comma"
that is:
but such work has not addressed either logging removing only selected trees

correct my explanation if i am wrong
