GMAT Sentence Correction (SC) | Although aspirin irritates the stomach, it can be avoided if

DOUBT: The original question begins with "Although...." and hence presents a contrast. However, none of the answer choices except D retains the contrast. I understand that option B seems to be the best option but does it sound all right to do away with the contrast, which clearly changes the meaning?

Can anyone please clarify this?
