The reference for the Canandaigua treaty is mentioned in the last sentence of the second paragraph. However if we look closely at the last sentence of thethird paragraph we find that the Canandaigua treaty is important for the pending land claims. This fits Option A which states "A valuable safeguard ofcertain Oneida rights and privileges"
