Reading Comprehension (RC) | Species interdependence in nature confers many benefits on the species

Hi expert,
Can any expert explain Q6? I was torn by C and D. As passage says short life span is a disadvantage character, and C says tree with short-live.
While D says a large number of pollinators, that should be an advantage character. So how to compare C to D? Thanks in advance.
