OR do you think thered text is just a result of the conclusion in theblue ?

Sort of like in SC - where comma + verb'ing : the present participle is an adverb - describing "How" the verb in the previous clause occurred.

I wasn't sure which of these two scenarios was the case.

I personally thought the 1st scenario was more probable.
