Mandy passed an exam that was quite difficult. --> OK
Mandy passed a quite difficult exam. --> WRONG

I do not understand why "Mandy passed a quite difficult exam" is incorrect. "Difficult" modifies "exam" and "quite" modifies "difficult". Thank youagain.
