Can someone please explain me the correct usage of "whom" in this context?
I know the differentiation between "whom" and "who".
Who: you refer to a subject:I talked to a friend who worked for the company. (The friend is subject of the second clause).
Whom: you refer to an object:Jones is the man whom I played football with last summer. (I played football with him.) (Jones is object).
Can't I transfer this approach to the differentiation between "whom"
