All the options are grammatically incorrect.
"Due" is an adjective and hence it should be used to refer to a noun.
The appeal was due to... is correct.(due is an adjective for the nounappeal )
Surfing appeals due to... is wrong. (due is wrongly used as an adverb for the verb appeals)
