B IMO since the lamps cost the same as one month’s supply of chemical sterilizers to sterilize the same number of stainless steel containers and if they tend to be effective for longer than a single month, then at the same cost as one month’s supply of chemical sterilizers manufacturers can sterilize more containers, thereby decreasing the overall cost.
And if the UV lamps tend NOT to be effective for longer than a single month then they might cost the same as the chemical sterilizers or even more than the chemical sterilizers.
