Not sure I understand what you're trying to say there!

Luis spent $72 in the supermarket:

  • A third on fruits, which is $24.
  • A sixth on vegetables, making it $12.
  • Directly, $12 on pasta.

This leaves us with a remainder of $72 - $24 - $12 - $12 = $24.

From this, half ($12) was spent on chocolate.

The soda expense was equal to the vegetable spend, which is $12.

So:
Fruits ($24) +
Vegetables ($12) +
Pasta ($12) +
Chocolate ($12) +
Soda ($12)
= $72.
