Ask GMAT Experts | Devastating GMAT score after 5 months of preparation

Hello,
After 5 months of study that included 12 mock tests of various companies, I scored a devastating 550 (Q42 V23) on my recent GMAT test in October. ---Its a pretty lengthy account so thanks a lot for bearing with me---

My goal was to reach a score above 710 by September end. My preparation started in June this year with eGMAT's 2 months course, after my initial score in the 1st GMAT prep mock exam was 540 (Q49 V17) . My study plan was as recommended by the mentor at Egmat i.e. I had to start with Quant even though I was not in a bad shape initially. However, eGMAT's Quant course has flaws at various places which actually affected my own methods for solving quant problems, - this, actually dented my confidence in my ability to perform in the chapter-end tests - which, in turn, resulted in decline in my quant scores although, there was a little improvement in my verbal scores.
