AWA does not really matter for the scores as it is going away completely in 2 months but if you are just wanting to avoid a 3 or something as low as that then, yes, quantity beats quality.
The computer and the human do not actually read your essay for content. They are reading it for writing evaluation.
This not a logic or persuasion or argument evaluation. This is a test of writing and semi-garbage writing counts as well. As long as you structure your work, have clear paragraphs, points, etc. They don't care how serious or silly they are.
