In GMAT, appropriate solution to resolve the paradox questions should explain how the different paradoxial situations coexist. Anything that explains partially is incorrect.

However, i do agree that option B is the only suitable one out of given choices but it explains only why Students gave a positive response for Arithmetic. But it is unclear why a partial response for Science and no response for reading and writing?
