There are a couple of points we should look athere:
1. The correct approach to idioms
Some test prep resources approach idioms incorrectly. They say that {X is idiomatic} means {everything else is wrong}. This is not the right way to approach idioms or verbal generally. Instead, we should focus on unidiomatic structures, like {Y is unidiomatic}, {Z is unidiomatic}. You may be going from {many correct options use a secondas after the firstas } to {any option that doesn't use a secondas after the first is incorrect}, but this is a riskyapproach.
2. In some constructions, using the secondas leads to a very awkward sentence. Have a look at the example usedhere.
