General GMAT Questions and Strategies | Methods to help keep the prob. solving process organized?

I'm interested in any "best practices" with regards to doing certain types of questions on the test. I'm looking for actual test-taking strategies vs. contest-tested strategies.

For example: AD/BCE method for DS questions, writing "A B C D E" for each question and marking out incorrect answers during SC, etc.
