GMAT Sentence Correction (SC) | Re: More than fifty years after the Second World War, a number

Option b .. awarded with is the idiom... Some of them posthumously.. is just added for giving extra information , and hence awarded should be followed by 'with'. Also, long overdue recognition is not wrong I think.
