If the sentence is conditional then THAT sentence consists of independent clause and subordinate clause. If the starting points starts with ''independent clause'' then you have to use ''comma'' before the ''subordinate clause''.

Here the official sentence is totally conditional. So, E is ok for the above explanation. That's the point.
