GMAT Sentence Correction (SC) | Re: When ethnic groups intermarry, it is likely

Hi,
1. Do we need "the name given to" after the Flynn effect?
2. what is the problem with C "they are likely to result in..."; "They" refers to ethnic groups, which is pl., isnt it.
