Option C should have been clearer.
as of now it seems that option C is saying " The Methane that is used to produce electricity , will NOT produce any carbon dioxide "
if this is the intended meaning than option C is better than D.
D says that at least some green house gas will be produced due to carbon dioxide INSTEAD of Methane.
But C says no green house gases will be produced at all , as the methane will be used as a substitute for fuel ,that does not produce any green house gas
