B totally cannot be a correct answer, and main problem lies on the usage of "which". "Which" modifies its immediately preceding noun. In this case, that preceding noun is "North America", as a result, the sentence meaning turns out to be illogical. How canNorth America cause the plant and animal extinctions ???
