1. "the patience ofits customers andits network strained to the breaking point". It is trying to convey the meaning with the patience of a) its customers b) its network. This is illogical meaning. There is not patience of its network.

2. "the on-line service company announced a series of new initiativesthat try to relieve". Look at the word 'that'. It means initiatives
