Kudos for a correct solution.

\((a*b)^5 = 96y\)

\(a^5 * b^5 = 2^5 * 3^1 * y\)

As we can see that we are looking for the value\(3^5\) and we already have\(3\) so we would need\(3^4 = 81\)

\(a^5 * b^5 = 2^5 * 3^1 * 3^4\)
\(a^5 * b^5 = 2^5 * 3^5\)
\(y = 3^4 = 81\)
Hence, Answer is D
