@: If you look at teh dictionary definition of "Conscending" => To put aside ones dignity or superiority voluntarily and assume equality with one regarded as inferior, does not look like the author is condescending. Also nothing in the passage indicates that the author is disapproving Shaw's ideas/thoughts. This led me to answer choice C. Hope this helps.
