I agree, studying alone for GMAT can be really difficult. I also tried for a while but then realized joining an institute is always a better option than self study. I have my reasons for that- it keeps me on track with my preparation, then one gets a mentor for clearing concepts and joining a centre provides one with a good peer group to study.
