Tough and Tricky questions: Word Problems.
If the sum of the cubes of a and b is 8 and a^6 – b^6 = 14, what is the value of a^3 – b^3?
A. 1/4
B. 1/2
C. 5/4
D. 7/4
E. 2
Kudos for a correct solution.
this is just another a sub b question-
(a-b)(a+b) = a^2-b^2
(a^3+b^3)(a^3-b^3)= a^6-b^6= 14
8(a^3-b^3)= 14
(a^3-b^3) = 14/8
