All we have to care about is that the diatonic musical scale was developed and used thousands of years before it was adopted by Western musicians. anything that supports hypothesis will be our answer.
Answer choice E states that cave bear bone was used to make the Neanderthal flute, means cave bear definitely belonged to that era and obviously not belonged to the later era. So this statement definitely proves the stated hypothesis that diatonic musical scale was developed and used
