Quadrant of point P(x,y)

(1) Point R(x, y+1) is in the second quadrant.
=> As above point R lie in 2nd quadrant => x =-ve and y+1 is +ve
Now we have to find quadrant of P(x,y). As we already know x is -ve we ahve to check value of y

If R(-1,5) => P =(-1, 4) => P lies in second quadrant
if R (-1,0.5) => P =(-1, -0.5) => P lies in third quadrant.

So either P lies in second or third quadrant. here we don't know value of y . Insufficient

(2) Point Q(x+3, y) is in the third quadrant.
