Sentence Correction (SC) | Re: Research has shown that the ancient Mesoamerican ballgame

One question.

pronoun "it" in the second independent clause, must be in parallel with "Research" in first independent clause. So is n't it incorrectly referring to "Research"?.

Also, I was struck with B and E.

Experts please help me eliminate E.
