I have doubt in usage of"that " as subject in relative clause.
In this sentence we have that date back to.Here "that refers to review or 2000studies or human behaviour?Logically it should refer 2000 studies. But if expressed in many noun entities with preposition what should the relative pronoun that(acting as subject for relative clause) should refer to?
eg:noun1 of noun2 of noun3 that serves..........Here what should "that" refer to ? noun1 or noun2 or noun 3?
