This question is not valid, but B is better than the others. Aside from some errors in the fixed portion (we need an "or" before The Holocaust and a comma before "whereas"), there's a meaning problem with all of the choices in terms of what is doing the suggesting. B is best because it uses an adverbial modifier, allowing us to refer back to the entire preceding clause.

A, C, and E use noun modifiers, and it's not clear which noun we're trying to modify. The preceding one
