Data Sufficiency (DS) | Re: Is x + 2y -­ 3z > 0?

Is x + 2y - 3z > 0?

Statement 1:
4x - 3y - z > 0
(x + 2y - 3z) - 5y + 2z > 0
x + 2y - 3z > 5y - 2z
Statement is insufficient.

Statement 2:
3x - 5y + 2z > 0
(x + 2y - 3z) - 7y + 5z > 0
x + 2y - 3 z > 7y - 5z

Combining statements 1 and 2:
4x - 3y - z > 0 and 3x - 5y + 2z > 0
Adding the inequalities because both are greater than 0 (we can't subtract the inequalities because we don't know if the result is greater than 0 or less than 0 as either could be possible)
