Hi,
Would you explain use of "Ago" & "Before"?

It should be "ago". Therefore D and E are incorrect. Out of the three options left, I pick B, because of encouraging and doubling. Have to admit that I am feeling not sure about this.
Before is used with a present or present perfect tense. Ago with something that was in the past.
