Solution

Given:
    •Ratio of Collies to Labs = 5:9
    •There are 66 Golden Retrievers
•There are 12 more Golden Retrievers than Labs

To find:
•The percent of dogs, which are Collies

Approach and Working:
As the ratio of Collies to Labs is 5:9, we can assume the number of Collies as 5x and number of Labs as 9x
    •Therefore, number of Golden Retrievers = 9x + 12
    •Given that, 9x + 12 = 66
    Or, 9x = 54
    Or, x = 6

    •Total dogs = 5x + 9x + 66 = 5*6 + 9*6 + 66 = 30 + 54 + 66 = 150
    •Collies
