1. How the usage of "would have been" is justified without past perfect in the if-clause? Usually we use "would"
2. Sinceit in"it was also evident" playse role of placeholder pronoun, shouldn't "but" preceded by COMMA as independent clause usually does?
There is no logic to belive that "it" refers to "commitment" rather than to the whole action "commitment in the team was low".
